Jonn Benedict Lu, Regional Director of WildAid Shark Savers

Jonn read Economics & Political Science at Columbia University. A serial entrepreneur, he has been involved with technology start-ups, venture capital / angel funding, brand and management consultancy. In 2004, he pursued a personal interest in documentary filmmaking, attaining an MFA. He directs and produces content focused on social concerns and marine-related issues.

A zealous weekend warrior, he is a rock climbing and scuba diving instructor, triathlete and adventure racer. An avid freediver, he’s able to hold his breath for 6 minutes.

He joined Shark Savers in 2010 as a Volunteer Leader, and subsequently became Shark Savers’ and WildAid’s Regional Director, covering key beachheads in the region. A Singaporean Chinese, he is launching campaigns, igniting social movements, forming partnerships and influencing policy change. He runs the largest campaign ever organised for shark conservation in the world, featuring over 700+ of the world’s most engaging, influential and powerful celebrities and personalities.
